Jinvani Preservation Centre Exhibition

Exhibition of Ancient Palm Leaf and Manuscript Scriptures

During this festival, the Shri Kundkund-Kahan Parmarthik Trust, Mumbai, and the Acharya Kundkund Jain Sanskruti Centre, Ponnur, showcased the work of the (scriptures) Jinvani Samavardhan Kendra, Ponnur. On the first day of the festival, January 19, 2024, following the Dharmadhwajarohan (hoisting of the religious flag), the grand opening of the ‘Jinvani Samavardhan Kendra, Ponnur Exhibition’ was conducted by dignitaries including the Pratishthacharya, stage managers, Trustees of the Swadhyay Mandir Trust and other institutions. The event was supervised by the Jinvani Samavardhan Kendra team and numerous devoted followers, thereby expressing their reverence for (scriptures) Jinvani Mata.

The exhibition highlighted the objectives (preservation and promotion of ancient heritage), the display of ancient scriptures (Jinvani), and the activities undertaken by the centre over the past five years. Thousands of visitors were given the opportunity to view ancient palm leaf and manuscript scriptures. The exhibition also provided an overview of the preservation efforts, including the acquisition, restoration, digitization, research, and preservation of these texts. The sight of the ancient scriptures filled devotees with deep reverence for the Dev (Passionless Omniscient Lords), Shastra (Holy Scriptures), and Guru (Enlightened Ascetics).

Many visitors and special dignitaries documented their experiences in a guestbook and expressed a desire to revisit the centre to see the scriptures (Jinvani) again. Throughout the seven days of the festival, the Jinvani Samavardhan Kendra became a focal point of faith in Jain religion within the Panchakalyanak Pratishtha Mahotsav.
