Organization of Pujan, Rituals, and Stage

During the Aadinath Digambar Jain Idol Panchakalyanak Pratishtha Mahotsav, the committee for Puja, rituals and stage arrangement had a crucial role in ensuring that all rituals and ceremonies were conducted according to scriptural guidelines, and that all necessary materials were prepared in advance. In addition, they were tasked with making arrangements for the devotees participating in the Swadhyayee Dev-Devi Yojana and the Shanti Jaap Yojana, organised by the Pratishthacharya Committee, during the event.

A unique aspect of this Pratishtha Mahotsav was that many rituals took place at four different locations: the Jain idols installed on the altar in the main pavilion, the three Jain idols installed in the discourse (Pravachan) mandap, the Jain idols on Mount Sumeru, and the colossal Bahubali Munindra. The Pujan Committee had to meticulously ensure that, under the guidance of the Pratishthacharya, all required materials and knowledgeable volunteers were present at each location to carry out the ceremonies. Preparations for these arrangements began almost a year in advance of the Pratishtha. The first step involved gathering all materials required for the various rituals from different parts of the country and bringing them to Songadh.

For this endeavour, a committee of 86 volunteers from 17 spiritual groups, both domestic and international, served in various capacities. Among these volunteers, 22 were women. The team members participated in online meetings, individual meetings, and meetings held in Songadh to ensure smooth organisation.

During the Pratishtha, two special Pujas were conducted: the Panch Parmeshthi Pujan Vidhan and the Yaag Mandal Pujan Vidhan. The Trust, the Pratishtha Committee, and the Puja Committee expressed a wish for as many devotees as possible to participate in these rituals using Ashta Dravya (8 items). To realise this wish, preparations for the Puja materials were made very early in the morning, enabling 1,000 devotees to perform the Yaag Mandal Pujan Vidhan and over 1,200 devotees to participate in the Panch Parmeshthi Pujan Vidhan with great devotion.

Additionally, various other Pujas were conducted during the Panchakalyanak celebrations, including the daily ritual Puja, special ceremonies & Pujan such as: the Shanti Jaap Sankalp, flag hoisting, the installation of Indra, the enshrinement of the deities in the altar, and the Maha Mastakabhishek of Bahubali Munindra. In these ceremonies, the characters of Indra-Indrani, Ashtakumari Devis, kings and queens, other celestial beings as well as 100 to 150 devotees participated.

The Vedi Shuddhi Ghat Purnavidhi (filling water in the kalasha ceremony) was performed with great devotion, within 1008 kalash set in a 30’x30′ rangoli. Subsequently, the Pratishthacharya Committee and trained volunteers guided each participant in performing the purification of the altar (Vedi Shuddhi) with 21 materials. On the day of the Lord’s birth celebration (Janma Kalyanak), 4,500 devotees performed the abhishek with pure, filtered water on the Pandukshila, located 1.5 kilometres away.

The ceremony of Ankanyas for 150 Bhagwans, which involved inscribing the symbols of Matrika on the idols, was conducted at four different locations. The rituals were performed in a timely manner with the required materials, including pure dhoti-khes and sandalwood. The installation of the idols was completed joyfully and ceremoniously with all the necessary items. Following the Pratishtha, chamars were installed with heartfelt devotion. Approximately 5,000 devotees participated in the Maha Mastakabhishek of Bahubali Munindra and the abhishek of the other Jinendra Bhagwan, conducted with enthusiasm and concluded with Puja-vidhan rituals.

Throughout these rituals, the task of providing pure dhoti-khes was accomplished skilfully. This Panchakalyanak Mahotsav was successfully completed without any hindrances, under the benevolence of enlightened souls.
